Officer: Miss Jeni, How is it that your husband fell out of the window?

Jeni: He was cleaning the window sir.

Officer: Now Miss Jeni, you've stated publicly many times that your husband Does Not do housework...why should I believe you?

Jeni: Yes Officer, that is correct. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw
it, that is why I took these...

No husbands were hurt in the making of this post. But one wife was completely shocked!!

Saturday Word Wall

4:49 PM Posted by A Busy Mommy

This is a fun Meme from Karrie over at Mommatudes! I'm loving her new blog design and this enjoying participating in this Meme!

Since my mind has been wrapped around food lately, and root veggies and preserving fruit seem to be my theme, I figured I'd go with that for my word wall!

My Confession....

I Love To Cook!

Some of you know this and some, not so much. But I absolutely love to cook. I enjoy standing in front of a bunch of raw food, and putting it together to make a delicious meal. In just this past week I have done quite a bit of cooking, experimenting and just brushing up on some skills I've put away over the years.

A few people have asked why I've gotten so domestic as of late. Why I'm so interested in canning and baking. Well, other than the fact that I enjoy it, It's so much healthier for you and I know what is going into the food I am feeding my family! And it's cheaper to boot!

In the last little bit I've made Zucchini Bread, Apple Crisp, 10 bottles of home made apple sauce, peanutbutter chocolate chip cookies and my mind just wanders on what to do next. So today I went to our local farm market and picked up 10lbs of pears, 25lbs of apples and some different varieties of Squash. I can't wait to get to work on those.

Tomorrow I plan to make another 3 loaves of Zucchini Bread, and I'm thinking I may make some Fruit Salad and can it...similar to fruit cocktail. It will have pears, peaches, apples and oranges, in a light syrup.

Another thing I am totally In Love with is Kitchen Gadgets/Products! I love me some Pampered Chef, Kitchen Aid, Paderno, Pyrex and just about every other Quality Kitchen Product their is. That is why, as of next week you will be able to read all my Kitchen Fun on my new Colorful Kitchen Blog. Though not live yet, and sorry folks, no sneak peaks just yet...

In the new year I do plan to also host a weekly cooking show on site, so I hope many of you will join in all the fun. Between now and then I hope to fine an awesome venue that will allow interaction with viewers as well as live cooking!!

So for right now, what I'm really looking for is:

What would you like in a cooking site?
What would make you come back to a cooking site?
What features would you like available to you?

I already have planned to have all my recipes on printable recipe cards with pictures included. The weekly webisodes, Step by Step instructions on all of my recipes, photos and video included. If you can suggest anything else, I'd love to hear!

Thanks so much!

Preschool - Here We Come!

10:58 AM Posted by A Busy Mommy

I am so flipping excited! My boy finally gets to start preschool. I've wanted to put him in for so very long, but everywhere I called was either full or way to pricy. The School that I found for him is 2 days a week, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:45 to 12:15. It's not very far from our house and inexpensive! It's only $14.50 per day and that includes his snack and lunch!

He's pretty excited too! He's wanted to go to "Little School" for some time now, and I finally was able to get him in!

We went to the school this morning and got him all signed up. He checked out his classroom and was thrilled with all the new toys he's going to get to play with. It's a very structured school which excited me a lot too. (he so needs structure in his life, I suck at that)

He goes in at 8:45 and I drop him off into the big classroom. There they start their day with a bible story on a felt board, and free play for 30 min. Then they go to the washrooms and wash up for their snack. After snack they get to go outdoors and play for 40 min, weather permitting, then they come in and have a reading time, and play some more. Then it's lunch time and time to go home!

If you can't tell, I'm absolutely thrilled! Now, his daddy? not so much... he's not quite ready to let others be responsible for him...but it has to happen! Next year Ben will start Primary (Kindergarten) and we all need to be prepared.

So, wish us luck and we'll be sure to post some "First Day Of School" Pictures tomorrow!
